Vulcan in Bellevue is Ready for Mixed Use – It seems every time I’m driving on Interstate 405 through Bellevue there’s more and more cranes on the city horizon and with the start of the Vulcan Real Estate’s three-tower Bellevue Plaza, more construction means more jobs, more housing, and more growth.

Clearing is currently underway for the construction of the first 17 story building in downtown Bellevue. The Vulcan Investment Strategy Director Lori Mason cure and says that the goal is to start construction as soon as possible once they have a lease executed for the project. Permitting activity indicates that Vulcan can roll onto the second phase comprised of two other towers once the first tower is least. Chances are, the tenant will probably be Amazon which is expanding in Bellevue. They’ve already confirmed leases of more than 1,600,000 ft.² not including the over 1 million-square-foot Bellevue 600 tower that the company itself is planning. Vulcan has been the go-to developer in Seattle for Amazon developing the South Lake Union campuses as well. [Source]

Bellevue Plaza will be a 4-acre site at 117 106 Avenue Northeast. When completed, all three towers will front 106 Avenue totaling about 180,000 ft.² of office and ground-level retail. The buildings will also include 1700 underground parking stalls. The first phase of construction will be at the south end of the block next to Main Street and feature an outdoor Plaza with a pedestrian path connecting 105th St. to 106 Street.

There are two Seattle companies designing the project, Graphite Design Group, and Compton Design Office. GLY Construction of Bellevue will be the general contractor.
